Yet another lazy post, but I came across both this excellent little reminder to ‘do unto others’ and this extremely challenging article on the Revive Our Hearts website the other day…. I cannot recommend this website enough for it’s many, varied topics and articles.

It’s recipe round-up time which Ann is hosting at Whatever things and this time its recipes from around the world!
I was originally born in Scotland and was brought up there for half of my childhood, so I will post a recipe for SCOTTISH TABLET. This is something I always mean to make, but never get around to it! It was something we used to enjoy as children when we went on a day-trip with our parents to the highlands. It can be bought everywhere in Scotland, but we just loved the homemade variety which you got in little Scottish villages such as this one, Callander.
I am partially N.Irish too, but you will find all those recipes over here.
That’s all for now! If I think of another I will post it!

My friend, E sent me a link to this post by Shannon (Rocks in my dryer).
I can’t believe just how much she has ‘hit the nail on the head’ with this topic.

Check out this link if you want to check out how the new UK budget will affect your finances this year. In 10 seconds I worked out that I would be paying £373 less tax this year on our income and £13.49 more on car tax. Wow!

1. Forth in thy name, O Lord, I go,
my daily labour to pursue;
thee, only thee, resolved to know
in all I think or speak or do.
2. The task thy wisdom hath assigned,
O let me cheerfully fulfill;
in all my works thy presence find,
and prove thy good and perfect will.
3. Thee may I set at my right hand,
whose eyes mine in-most substance see,
and labour on at thy command,
and offer all my works to thee.
4. For thee delightfully employ
what e’er thy bounteous grace hath given;
and run my course with even joy,
and closely walk with thee to heaven.

Shannon (of ‘Rocks in my dryer’) is hosting another giveaway carnival….(details of which can be found here).
My particular giveaway is open to anyone, anywhere in the world; friends and fellow-bloggers; you are all most welcome to participate.
I felt, considering there are not too many Irish bloggers out there (well N.Irish will do!) that something distinctly Irish would be appropriate on this occasion, as this will be the 1st giveaway I’ve done. The drawing will be held on February 2nd…. I will announce the winner on this blog and Shannon will also have a Mr. Linky on her blog that weekend specifically for the winners announcements. Just leave me a comment here, on this post, and you will be entered! I will then draw a winner from the comments I have received using this very handy random number generator.
So here I have a very sweet, pretty genuine sterling silver celtic necklace up for grabs!
I am also including these very tasty Irish oatcakes, which are handmade with rolled oats from County Armagh, N.Ireland!
*Be sure to check out all the other great giveaways in the carnival!*
THIS GIVEAWAY IS NOW CLOSED.
