Here is the first of a series I intend to start entitled ‘Frugal recipes’. This may contain some vegetarian, dessert and main-course recipes. They will have all been tried and tested!

This is a simple sauce to jazz up cheap and cheerful pork chops, which obviously can be eaten along with potatoes and perhaps some frozen vegetables to make it quick as well as frugal!

BBQ Sauce for Pork Chops
1 tablespoon oil
1 onion
1 green pepper chopped
3 tablespoons ketchup
1 tablespoon red wine vinegar
2 tablespoons soft brown sugar
1/2-1 teaspoon mustard (optional)
1 tablespoon worcestershire sauce

* Fry off onion & pepper in oil.
* Throw in rest of ingredients!
* Keep on low heat for 15 minutes
* Serve over grilled or fried pork chops!
* Enjoy!
